Ben Vité - The Blood Lily
Sometimes when I close my eyes
I see a world where no one dies
No one has any regrets
No one has to pay their debts
Coz the devil tempted me with you
And I fell for it as people do
I signed my soul with a drop of blood
To a life of pain, the curse of love
Looking up from Hell I saw blue sky
The place I could go if I could die
But I lost my life years ago
Back in the place the lilies grow
Sometimes I feel like I’m a ghost
The dead are who I talk to most
They tell me what it’s like to live
But I have nothing left to give
Walking across an empty field
I almost forgot that I was real
And as the lilies brushed against my heel
I recall what it’s like to feel
My blood ran dry whenever I bled
I sing to the words that no one’s said
Strange thoughts and visions go through my head
The river runs black but the lilies stain it red
Sometimes I try to get up high
To make me think that I can fly
But it just hurts so much more
When you have further to fall
Somewhere off in the distance
I hear a cry for assistance
Another lost soul in this town
Another poor soul that’s gonna drown
Walking down an empty street
I feel the blood rush to my feet
My mind went as I quickly fell
Into the arms of a hotel
With the help of an employee
I was moved into a suite
And on the table right next to me
A vase containing a lily
My blood ran dry whenever I bled
I sing to the words that no one’s said
Strange thoughts and visions go through my head
The river runs black but the lilies stain it red
As I stare into the abyss
I wonder if I will be missed
If I’ll leave without a trace
A hidden name, a forgotten face
Just before I disappeared
The devil whispered in my ear
He said there’s nothing left to fear
The lilies will bring the others here
My blood ran dry whenever I bled
I sing to the words that no one’s said
Strange thoughts and visions go through my head
The river runs black when the lilies are dead
My blood ran dry every time I bled
I sing to the words that no one’s said
Strange thoughts, strange visions go through my head
And the lilies fall down to the river bed
