Bo Wigger - Shikara

Some years ago in a strange country, Kashmir is the name
A greenhorn from the west couldn´t find the way
To the place from where he came
Then he found the lake in the night, in the silence on his own
Suddenly a voice from the water asked, where is your home
And he said, I live on a houseboat but I can´t find my way back there
Then the voice spoke to him, it´s easy just come here

Come drive in my Shikara the houseboat isn´t far away
Come drive in my Shikara, I know where you stay

They crossed the lake with the sound of splash, the full moon was above
His fear was gone, he felt free again, longing for some stuff
He told the Shikara man who smiled and said with a grin
I think that´s a really good idea,
So they drove to a silent place and lit a candle in the darkness
To fill the hubble bubble
They smoked a few of them until he could only mumble

Let´s drive in the Shikara, the houseboat isn´t far away
Let´s drive in the Shikara to the place where I stay

But then he felt asleep, it was too much for a guy like him
The Shikara man just watched it all with the same funny grin
Those western style pants that was the reason
And disappeared with them in the night
The next morning the greenhorn woke up all alone ready for a fight
And he shouted, where are my favourite pants and the bloody thief
But when he looked at the lake he saw the Shikara man wearing his pants and singing

I drive in my Shikara, the houseboat isn´t far away
I drive in my Shikara, I know where I stay
