Songs I Wrote - Just Like in My Dreams

I love the winter
I love the snow
I love the feeling of being on my own
I get lonely sometimes, but that's okay
I holler out sometimes, but I'm okay

I love the autumn
I love the leaves
I love the feeling of getting caught up in a dream
Like one day, I'll build a log cabin up in Canada
I'll sleep next to the wood stove
And all my clothes will smell like smoke
And I'll be alright

I love my hometown
I love the old stone walls
I love early mornings cruising down that road
I used to bomb to school in a tan minivan
I was often feeling awkward and embarrassed there
I'd rather be at home
Better off alone

I love my family
The ways in which I've grown
I don't love too many things
But I love this old trombone
Now I play the bad boy
Alone but I'm not scared
And I'll be waiting out there patiently till I'm embraced by the dawn
Like nothing's gone wrong
It'll all go down

I love my best friend even though we haven't talked in years
I think about the nights we used to laugh until we were in tears
It's still there in my mind like yesterday
It's all real in my mind every day

I love music
I love making it
I love the bands that I used to play drums along with in the basement
Blistered palms and calloused fingertips
I'd smash away a shitty day till my thoughts would go away and I'd be alright

I love the ocean
The sand between my toes
I don't love too many things
But I love these old bongos
Now I play the good guy
One day, I'll have a kid
And I'll be wandering out there aimlessly till I'm encased by the light
Like finally something went right
It'll all go down

I love the treetops
The sun heating up my skin
I love the clouds when it looks like someone painted them
I sometimes love to fill in the empty space
But I mostly love to leave things plain

If I stay awake, then one day it'll all go down just like in my dreams
