Jamie Paul - Old Broken World

The lock is broken or the key don't work
I'm trapped inside this body spinning with the Earth
I built my own escape room but now I cannot find the door
The funniest part is the irony
Of feeling safest in a place where you can't be free
It's complicated living as a human being that's for sure

It's the people we are closest to we hurt the most
Like a parasite inside turning on the host
It's a tragic situation but who doesn't love a tragedy?
Sometimes a blessing can become a curse
And sometimes if you're lucky that can be reversed
Life has a habit of becoming what it's meant to be

It can be hard living in this old broken world
With the background noise so deafening
It's so frustrating trying to make a difference in this old broken world
But most things that are broken can be fixed

I've got a head full of dreams in a world of lies
Having empty pockets comes as no surprise
I attract money like a shark to the desert sands
When machines take over I'll be well prepared
Got my head screwed on so I won't be scared
I've been training all my life for this scenario and when it lands
I'll run for the hills with my family
Find a place up in the mountains where we can be free
Keep our distance from the fuckers who are suffocating all of us
You can shove your agenda where the sun don't shine
Keep your bullshit politics away from me and mine
When the tide starts turning I'll be ready to be treasonous
