John H Maloney - Back to Point A

Stumbling through the darkness
Hoping that I'll find a light
And I can't help but feel that something
Doesn't seem right

I don't know what I'm doing
Or just how I got here
But I'm sure that the way forward probably
Won't be so clear

It's taken me too long to see
That this is not the way
It'll never take me where I need to be
Just back to point A

I need to reconsider
Where I'm trying to go
Is it just an old destination
From too long ago

It's time that I update my maps
To better find my way
And navigate around those same traps
That lead back to point A

I've got to learned to leave the past behind
Focus on right now
Figure out how I can ease my mind
And finally allow

Myself to move forward
To get just what I need
Instead of tripping over everything
That could possibly impede
The progress I've been making
That I don't recognize
Because I keep on ignoring the evidence
That's right before my eyes

I need to take responsibility
And get out of my own way
Find the things that lead where I want to be
Instead of back to point A
