Lewscannon - Since Then

Since then

I should've known it'd be one of those kinds of days
No hot water and the cat getting sick on the bed
I walked into work and i asked the boss for a raise
He pulled out a hatchet and shouted, off with his head

I'd never seen him that way before
Imagine my surprise
A poison pen or a knife in the back
Was more his form of exercise

I ain't been the same since then

Kind of bummed out, i found myself in a bar
Banging down doubles and looking for someone to squeeze
She looked so good but she dressed quite bizarre
An adam's apple and athletic pads on the knees

And when the wig fell off
Imagine my surprise
Maybe it's the booze, but what i got
Was something else than advertised

I ain't been the same since then

I went to the doctor to get myself checked out
He gave me a shot and then i started to doze
Some patients' charts got shuffled all about
And i woke up with a brand new nose

I looked into the mirror
Imagine my surprise
I could've got my old job back
I never would be recognized

I ain't been the same since then
