aim king - moss (feat. CRIM)

There are lots of things I could've done
But I'm not there yet
Ways we could've won
If we placed a fair bet, but
That doesn't seem like the point
If there is one
It keeps moving
And I feel like we just need to keep choosing

Path laid as we tread through it
A man told me that once
As we shared a bench on seafront
He'd been here a while
And I trusted his smile
And how it had sculpted lines
That curved around eyes
He asked if I was peening poetry
Cos of my contemplative face it
Gave it away his
Guess was right
I sat down
Shared what I was writing
And he shared his life
I felt privileged

He told me
Not to forget that we
Came out of sea as moss did
So don't be so sure where you're going

Admitting our ignorance a start
We know only what's in heart
Pay attention to its beating
It's beating
Vast is the sea our sight lay upon
Casting thought we untie was forgone
We sat there in the limitlessness
Watching all the selves we were
Drift pass
Forgiving them
Thanking them
Seeing their innocence
We sat there as the limitlessness
And potential yet to come

He told me
Not to forget that we
Came out of sea as moss did
So don't be so sure where you're going

The space we dwell
Liminal
But isn't it all in-between
Even the elder trees are becoming

I think I thought I had become
But hadn't
Was sure I knew what this all was
But not I'm gladdened
To know we never will
We make our own meaning
Dream as we're sleeping
Just as real as what we see
When eyes open
And I've never felt so awake

[CRIM]
I never felt more content with a state
Of mind that can broaden a horizon.
Constantly found devising
A plan that will require a deep dive in
To discovery of selves,
Amongst shells,
Amongst growth that's timeless.
Spurred on by shade
To wish a good day
To anyone with pain where the heart is.
Dampen the mood where they tear,
But we don't care what people say,
We just learn from each mistake.

A man once shared a bench with me in a packed park,
Am I penning poetry, he asks.
Without hesitation or even a glance
up to his face,
I knew right there and then I couldn't say yes,
Cos he would ask to read it.
I couldn't bare to bring that kind of vulnerability
To anyone without belief in
The crisis we are all beseeched with.

He had a plastic bottle and cigarette
He pung off into the grass.
All that green now tainted by ash.
All that 'you don't know where you're going',
But deaths guaranteed.
So I spend my moments in ignorance,
For that's what's in the heart.
To this very moment, to this very day,
I never stepped foot back in that park.
