Smoulder - Dragonslayer's Doom
Grim weather worked stones
Ribboned with parasols of fungus
Remnants of a bountiful land now awry
Implacable adversary slashes fog to ribbons
Spreads her wings and took to the sky
Creeping tendrils,
slayer's failed rites
Campe's gnarled talons, boundless arcane might
Snatching phrases from cruel grimoires
Plucked from the tumulus of a forgotten queen
The great stargazer poured over with watchful eyes
Wyverns' ancient lair revealed in the scry
Creeping tendrils,
slayer's failed rites
Campe's gnarled talons,
boundless arcane might
Destroyer at the roots of the world
Perched upon a mass of gold and stinking viscera
Rugged figure scrambles up the shore
Towards the mouth of the cave
Narrow ribbon of flame!
Left clutching a useless hilt
Mighty wyrm, cruel gaping maw
Behold fiery doom!
Gurgling screams
Echo on the wind
Guilty flesh devoured
In this my final hour
Spew forth molten spittle
A mess of charred flesh and blood
Her ashes scattering
Lost on the wind
Leathery wings darken
The vast beyond
A ponderous bell swells,
Sojourn in watery realms
