The Never Latelys - That Show

In the early '90s, well we all had simple dreams
We'd have those endless days and 4-track nights, or so it would have seemed
There was no internet, no DVDs, we'd learn covers from a tape
We had plans to make an album, and record on acetate

But then, as time moved on, well things began to slow
I had my mind still on the music, you had heart set on the show
We'd pull in different ways, took different paths, the cracks began to show
We'd have our own lives soon, but they could wait
Until we'd played "that show"

We'd learned our lessons from that time and never know
That once again we'd roll the dice and give it one more go
We got together like we'd never left before
Reliving memories, and fantasies to play that final show

But then, as time moved on, well things began to slow
I had my mind still on the music, you had heart set on the show
We'd pull in different ways, took different paths, the cracks began to show
We'd have our own lives soon, but they could wait
Until we'd played "that show"

But then, as time moved on, well things began to slow
I had my mind still on the music, you had heart set on the show
We'd pull in different ways, took different paths, the cracks began to show
We'd have our own lives soon, but they could wait
Until we'd played "that show"

But then, as time moved on, well things began to slow
I had my mind still on the music, you had heart set on the show
We'd pull in different ways, took different paths, the cracks began to show
We'd have our own lives soon, but they could wait
Until we'd played "that show"
