Paradoxical - End of the Road

I matured some more today
Found wisdom in a stable place
Remembered the things that matter most
And found a little bit more hope

I'm no longer a frightened child
But caution is important now
It's okay to be brave
It's okay to be kind
But not at the expense of myself
And those I love the most

Heartache can turn a blind eye
But so can love
And if there's one thing I learned today
It's to use my head with both
Because they'll be there wherever I go

When the sun goes down
And the stars come out
Just know God is looking down
The universe speaks to me and to you
And the words are always true
Whether we hear them in the moment
Whether we accept them in the present
It's up to us to listen close
And eventually come to terms on our own

My heart is heavy with some regret
But I am proud of what I've done best
I'll look to the sky when I don't know
And ask for the answers I'm looking for

It won't ever be easy
This I know
But I hope to do the best I can
And in the end
Everything will work out as it should
Whether the road bends and bumps
Or is an easy path
I know that I will make it in the end

When the sun goes down
And the stars come out
Just know God is looking down
The universe speaks to me and to you
And the words are always true
Whether we hear them in the moment
Whether we accept them in the present
It's up to us to listen close
And eventually come to terms on our own

And once I know I'm at the end of the rope
And have learned all I've needed to know
I hope I look back with pride
At how much I've grown
I hope I find comfort
At the end of the road
