South Entrance - Monkey Fight

A monkey swings from left to right
He's trying hard to start a fight
His fists are clenched his teeth are bared
His eyes are fire his nostrils flared

Here comes a fighter of no renown
Moving swift as a river and soft as a cloud
The mortals dueled till the day was done
But both were still standing
No one had won

The two called a truce
For without a victor
Under the light of the sun
They had no reason to fight
As goes the ancient primate custom

In the morning the sun had rose
There the two fighters in kung-fu pose
The grit of dirt and the mist of air
Could not contain the stillness there

A blow was thrown by the fighter unknown
The monkey stood as still as stone though
His focus had not broken then
He had the strength of fifty men

He grabbed the nameless fighter's hand
It was going just as he had planned
He knew the move to end this fight
So he threw him up into the light

Past tree and cloud and bird and sky
The fighter to the cosmos fly
And then once he ascended there
He fell into the sun
