Pop the Weasel - Right Now It's the Road

Right, man I wish I could be
Light, not like the loads before me
Might be why I'm writing all these songs

Still can't help but feel that there are one or two
Things I might have got a little wrong

Regret, I couldn't possibly
Forget, the luck and way we met
Like I'd known her all along

Now each-and-every hour of every single day
Are wrapped up in the lines of all these songs

And all the while with course set for storm clouds
Sails set, billowed shrouds, current tide and sea
Right now it's the road-under me

Wait, it all comes down to
Fate, never known it be so late
Another twist of no concern

Still don't know quite how I got to where I am
And I'm wondering if I just missed my turn

But overall it seems I'm making good time
Songs and dreams, the perfect rhyme-wine and smoke and bread
Right now it's the road-that lies ahead

Fool, I wasn't always so
Cool, just broke a few damn rules
With hindsight not so wise

But I tried to tell the truth to all the friends I made
But I told myself the usual pack of lies

And as the miles turn into the meter
Measure every beat her distance and her heart
Right now it's the road-tearing us apart
Right now it's the road-breaking my heart.
