It is now my pleasure to welcome to the podium[00:02.18]The Athletic Director of East Tennessee State University[00:04.73]Dr. Richard Sander[00:14.69]Thanks Dr. Noland[00:15.84]I'll tell you, I'm as excited today as I was in 1986 when I got my first AD job at VCU[00:21.97]We're going to do some great things[00:24.70]But you know when I took over in August[00:26.86]Dr. Noland asked me to help out in August[00:29.21]And you know the first thing that I wanted to do[00:31.27]Is I wanted to make sure that we really focused on our identity[00:34.85]I think as a coach, we always talk to coaches about identity[00:38.62]What is the identity of your team, and you have to commit to that[00:41.83]You know I know Coach Mock over here, faithful for 40,[00:45.73]That's what they're committed to[00:47.01]But, I think that's the one thing that we really wanted[00:49.42]I wanted to make sure that we focused on our student-athlete[00:52.42]That we, we focused on that they have a great experience while they're at ETSU[00:57.01]But we also want them to have that experience that will really set their stage in their life[01:03.77]So that they're productive and caring individuals[01:06.47]And so that was really important[01:08.27]That was our number one focus when I kind of stepped into the role in August
