Malcom Mufunde - TND Interlude

Tisu Ngoda Dzacho. TND, and so, TND is a-
The tribe is in here.
. So that means
We are the diamonds or we are the diamonds they speak of.
OK. So you started something, uh, with, with TND, heading that..kinda like motivated people and having people find their purpose. What made you, what made you do that?
It started out as a- a line in a song that I wrote. The line in the song was, uh, "Regardless of the rocks out in Marange, tisu ngoda dzacho dzese. There's nothing we can't do tikabatana tese." And, uhm,

Marange was this diamond field that was discovered and, uhm, long story short, like, we were all so excited and celebrated like, "Y'all, this is it. This is what's about to, like, revive the economy and turn things around." And then down the line what happened is it kinda came out that fifteen billion worth of value or diamonds was like just, pss, embezzled, lost or what have you.
Right.

But long story short, it wasn't the magic bullet we all felt and believed it might become, right? So I think myself, like a lot of other Zimbabweans, was kinda like disheartened and kinda like, "OK, so what do we do now?" And for me at that time, I was like, I- I kinda said to myself, "You know what? I'd put my hopes. I- I went ahead and put my hopes in- in- in something happening outside of me. So it was a reaction of, like, kinda saying, "You know what? Uhm, I'm not gonna believe in- in- in- in, uhm, in diamonds.
Right.
Find what is of most value inside me. I'm gonna refine that. I'm gonna mine that. Uhm, I'm gonna make that work for me, you know?
Yes.
So, you know, that line says regardless of whatever value is out there in the ground somewhere, we are the diamonds that they speak of.
Right.

And there's nothing that we can't do tikabatana tese. If we- if we come together, there's nothing we can't do. So the idea behind Tisu Ngoda Dzacho is, like, purpose. Purpose is that thing when they say, uh, "We are created in the image of God." Purpose is that piece of God that is within all of us. And I believe that purpose is not something that you- that you, uhm, that you have to find. It's something that you define.
Right.

Before it's all over
