Worriers - Hold My Breath

The first time I didn't come home
I almost had a heart attack.
Woke up at 4 and searched for my phone
til I remembered you don't want me back.
It wasn't worth a curtosy call
but I made up a stupid excuse,
like I wasn't feeling well at all.
My body didn't know what else to do.
The first time I didn't respond
it took some convincing just to let it rest.
Couldn't bring myself to say that you won't
when you said You're actin' like I'm not gonna see you again.
Now my heart is a really hard sell.
You want me to think that you still wish me the best.
You'll come home to just outlines of bookshelves.
I took what I can carry, you can take the rest.
Last time I saw you I ran,
turned my back, and refused to turn around again.
Now my friends say that you're feelin' bad,
well I won't hold my breath.
