Tinker - Poppy was a Pirate

Poppy was a pirate yes she was
Poppy was a pirate
She sailed the 7 seas because
She sailed the 7 seas
Her sister took her things, like her dolls and shiny rings
So she set off for an adventure on her own
Poppy left home

A sailing ship moored in the bay
It was a pirate ship
Poppy snuck aboard and stowed away
But she didn't know it
Once the ship was out at sea, the pirates made a discovery
They threw poor Poppy in the brig below
Poppy said oh no

Captain Spleen said she could stay
Poppy could live on board
If she cooked and cleaned and put things away
Like pots and pans and swords
So Poppy worked like a slave - and was made to behave
Or Mean ol' Spleen would make her walk the plank
Poppy said no thanks

A mighty storm raged through one night
The ship was tossed around
The poor old pirates were petrified
They thought they would drown
And all that Captain Spleen could do - was snivel, moan and spew
The pirates thought they were good as dead
Poppy said not yet

She fought the rain and grabbed the wheel
They went up a waterspout
The panicked pirates began to squeal
But Poppy rode it out
And while her shipmates hid, do you know what Poppy did
She steered the ship to safety on her own
Through a cyclone

When the pirates saw what she had done
Poppy took a bow
They held an election and Poppy won
So she's their Captain now
And former Captain Spleen, now has to cook and mend and clean
While Poppy sails her ship around the world
Poppy's some girl
