As the final hours of the day rolls round
And the beautiful blue sky becomes covered with grey clouds
And yes, that may seem like a bad thing, but it doesn't seem to me

Such a cool, comforting feeling that makes me feel safe
The sound of the raindrops hitting on a nearby windowsill
Brings me to a whole new plane of what people call chill

Well, a drip becomes a drizzle onto the sidewalk down below
The water starts to run in the gutter and the leaves go with the flow
And I'm watching as the rain sparkles in the streetlights outside
The sound of rushing water, it fills my heart up with delight

It's 10pm Kansas time, but I'm still not asleep
As the rain pours down outside my window coming down in sheets
So I wind up laying in my bed late night up in the rain
As I stare out the window with the raindrops on the glass pane

Now the rain pours down heavier outside my bedroom walls
The sound of powerful thunder echoes down our house's halls
And the snapping of the thunder leaves me shaking with delight
As I watch as the lightning sparks up the pitch black night sky
