Jordan Lawson - STAY

Just stay
I keep thinkin 'bout you everyday
But, you keep tellin' me you'll never change
And that's fine with me
Cause I'm doing the same
Well, come on
I got a few pretty women singing my unreleased poetry
And she's smiling cause she know it's me
That pretty boy who came over that colder week
And put a fire in her heart
Lit a spark
I had to come and show her peace
We traded pieces of ourselves in conversation
I wear my heart out on my sleeve, nah I can't fake it
An open book with pictures scribbled on the pages
But some chapters you can't read cause we ain't dating
No disrespect, I'm always honest, no reason to lie
Don't wanna cloud ourselves with doubt cause we dream in the sky
Sometimes the stars can cross but don't always need to align
Don't wanna grow apart, I'd rather us be intertwined
I know I'm not the only one that you keep in your mind
And that's fine, not gon' be tied down
So maybe one day in the future we'll keep it in mind
But we just having fun for right now
Just stay, I keep thinking 'bout you every day
But you keep tellin' me you'll never change
And that's fine with me cause I'm doing the same, well
But I got a new girl
She's beautifully crafted, come lay on my mattress
She got my heart jumping, got me doing back flips
I'm head over heels and she's heels over head for me
You see me work, girl, I go in so steadily
But with the flow, I keep moving
We switch the beat up, trust I keep this thing grooving
Hit 'em with a couple triplet flows, never know what I'm doing
They asking "How's this singing, pretty white boy going stupid?"
Yeah
I said they throwing shade on me but they call me the breeze
It cools me off, I keep it rolling down the road with the trees
It clears my mind like shooting dimes out in the drive in the spring
With all my brothers
Man, no other man could cover the team
Spilling thoughts out on to pages
Been going through different stages
Been searching for home in women that don't love me
But I'll face it, I know I'm not really helping myself in that situation
I'm a rambling man, just trying to handle his plan
No time for gambling hands that could damage advances
I am the man in command, I like to manage finances
This poem's channeling Chance
That new girl, I like her chances
She's trying to channel romance
So let's light a candle and dance, woo
So, I dip you and do the spin
Wrap you up inside these arms
Like I'll never hold you again, cause I might not
But let's enjoy the time while we got it, girl
It's been a long day, so lay your pretty ass down and just stay
I keep thinking about you every day
But you keep telling me you'll never change
And that's fine with me, cause I'm doing the same
