Scott B. Mackay - This Time Last Year

I didn't know where I'd be
This time last year
I didn't know where I'd be
This time last year
I didn't know where I'd be
This time last year
I didn't know where I'd be
This time last year
Painted a picture
And watched it age
Days pass and slowly the colors fade
The finer points begin to blur and degrade
Technicolor turns to black and white
Thoughts are laid to waste by the hands of time
And ideas lose their meaning
When not realized
And the best laid plans of mice and men
Are laughed at by the gods all too often
Whether or not I believe in deities
So I'll draw up my best blueprint
And watch as it's swept away by the wind
Struggle is inherent in reality
And the only preparation
Is to maintain the expectation
That along the way I will lose some blood
So I'm finding joy in searching
Allowing tears when I am hurting
My path has opened to places
I never thought I'd see
And
I didn't know where I'd be
This time last year
I didn't know where I'd be
This time last year
I didn't know where I'd be
This time last year
I didn't know where I'd be
This time last year
