El Flaco - Flaco's Blues

Through a military program entitled "Operation Wetback,"
Yesss, "Operation Wetback"
Just to kind of share with you the mindset of the larger society
Through what historian Francisco E. Balderrama was talking about in terms of Mexicans
Under BLANK's command,
The I.N.S and the Border Patrol
Saw the benefit of a large-scale deportation campaign
Treating this anxiety regarding undocumented workers
"Operation Wetback" also relied heavily on newspaper propaganda to garner support for it's cause
"Operation Wetback" was perceived as a successful campaign at it's time
I've been mad that I can not paint
A picture perfect example of pain
Slicing inside of my skin today
Leave a scab that bleeds tomorrow
Just to collect the blood with my pen
So I can resonate deeper within
The ears and the eyes of the souls that I touch
Proving that I got a Midas touch
Turning trees into dust
And scars into living plush
Far from here so I can scream
THIS KILLER INSTINCT RUNS IN BLOOD
And it runs through me 'El Hijo de Martin'
Saving me from myself, my worst enemy
Oh no,
Oh no no no
...
Oh no,
Oh no no no
Where do we
Where do we go
From here ?
I say "Oh No
Go and ring the bells!"
I just pray my words don't fall on deaf ears again
So I dot every "I," slash my "T's," twice to make sure I don't send
Anything less than perfect and genuine
Out into a cold world where we pedestal blue Benjamins
With cold and frigid fingers above the hearts that linger
In the pool filled with liquor way past dinner time
Scarring kids with stingers and high fives on the cheekbones
Outlined in ruby red to show kids they don't know
Jack Shit about just being grown and still feeling alone
Cuz although they at home
Filled with souls that once loved 'em
The kisses quickly cold
Once the evil in 'em revealed
Then they jumped head-first into the pool too
And helplessly these souls, sadly slip into abyss
With a 50/50 chance that they'll know better than this
Routine that left me scarred
To showcase my art to ya
Just to judge if I'm fit
For the title of 'Father'
Ohhhh
The resounding theme throughout this study and a resounding theme in this cycle
Is that the federal government ensures people without right's for business
The United States practices, AGaiN, exclusionary citizenship
So again, I can't emphasize enough the significance of this cycle's exchange...
