Emerald's Diner - Episode 9: Turn It Off/Lab Rat

I'm a lab rat
Strapped down to be experimented on
Barren walls, bright and white
My eyes are burning, like having an anvil pin your hand to the stove
I cannot focus on what the teacher is saying
While the sound of the fan
Screams into my ear,
A most unpleasant surprise from a stranger at this hour of the morning
I hear every click, pop, and breath from every corner of this room
The outlets are buzzing into the chords
Which are buzzing into the devices,
This is like bees nesting all over,
With no reward of the sweet, sweet golden honey,
Only the sharp, sharp stinging all over my body
Starting from my ears,
Moving to my skull,
Down through my neck
And then down through every extremity of my body
Capable of being stung
I can feel the preceptor
Of the pounding head, the twisted stomach nausea,
The sensitivity to light growing even greater
Get me out, get me out of this hell
This is cruel even for a lab rat
I don't want to be a lab rat
Why can't the world be a little nicer
To a lab rat like me
