Sally Crosby - St John's

I went to the supermarket today
I went to the supermarket to get myself some food
Because I've not had a proper meal in a while
Stroll into the supermarket today
Run around the clothing aisle and bump into an old friend
And say nothing, I turn my back and walk away
Later on I'm pushing down the milk aisle
Thinking how I should have said something to her
the last time I saw her, her mother was still alive
And I walked over the broken glass
I walked over her broken glass
I walked over the broken glass of her motorcycle crash

Strolling down the medicinal aisle
Pick a pack of St John's and hope he'll make me smile
and I get out of there, grabbing some deodorant
Shove it over the St John's, stuff myself down the sweets aisle
and hope I can get out before they catch me here
And before I know it, who is there, but my old head of school, no my old head of year
And I cannot believe that this is happening to me
'Cause I'm at the checkout and he's right next door
and even though his hair's not ginger anymore I still know it's him
I don't know if he knows it's me
Since then I've started taking drugs, there's a lot more to me
And I'm thinking that as I pass St. John's through the supermarket to me

I went to the supermarket today
I won't be going there in a while, I am telling you
I am not getting out for a bit
I'll sit here and suckle St John's
Yeah I'll sit here and suck on St John's
Yeah I'll sit here and be with St John's for a while
