Chris kHz - Le Fiasco
As the time grew closer I pretended to be a kind of kingpin
Brought to life by the disillusionment of my enemies, plush surroundings, and drug store chit chat
I broke down
Yet always careful about the facts, clarified my connection with the doomsday cult
This was not my view at the time but it was necessary to come to some sort of neat conclusion
Time is not what you think
Straight lines bend 'round side streets
Pull yourself to the stage
Open the gate
Not everyone was convinced so as the time grew closer
I flooded myself with Genesis and Jeopardy, ancient languages, and lost sounds
Symbolism is very important I purred, secretly in a panic
The bloodletting was denounced as a malicious lie
And even the bombers, in a move which later came to define the arbitrary
Spat on their always pragmatic icon
The decay of several decades began with an evil wink
The result of an impressive show
And even though I heard footfalls, although I understood the taboo
As the time grew closer I swallowed my words magnificent
Words which pleaded and sang
Words which cried for resistance
And ultimately sighed, beaten into submission
Time is not what you think
Straight lines bend 'round side streets
Pull yourself to the stage
Open the gate
Time is not what you think
Straight lines bend 'round side streets
Pull yourself to the stage
Open the gate
In the spirit of the tragic dynamic I began to understand a sense of shared sacrifice
And it soon became convenient to cross arms and avoid responsibility
Or in the words of the reformed party animals and social advocates, "cut to the chase"
I must have conceded without profit, without solution
Only because the time came
