Elena Rogers - Letter From Space

Dear old friend I hope this letter will find you well
Who knew outer space was so far away?
The seasons never change here
And everything's the same here
And every now and then I tend to think about home

It has slipped my mind which planet I'm on
Though I know there's no denying that view!
I can see you clearly
and yet you're nowhere near me
And nobody can hear me which is why I'm writing instead

BUT that's enough about me! Tell me how have you been?
Do you still tell the tales that we told way back when?
I would like to believe when you look at the moon
You pretend that it's me and I'm coming back soon
But we both know oh no

Dear old friend I hope this letter has found you well
Please forgive my penmanship for its looks
My hands are sort of trembling
I'm losing strength and memory
The gravity's affecting me- perhaps the pressure increased?

And so I wish you the best but my letter is through
For I have no address to deliver it to!
I'll release it and watch as it floats and pretend
You'll receive it one day and remember your friend
But we both know oh no

Dear old friend Dear old friend
