Rah-C - Oil Painting

I resolve a lack of leadership
With writings on the wall cause I never really needed shit
Factor in a tall glass of greed
This is all I could ever do for y’all
Barely breathing which is old news
I ain’t one to be sold views
Just gimme half a joint, cheap liquor and pro tools
Then let me do the rest
Fans from New York to Budapest
There’s no rest when consumed with stress
It’s a life sentence but I’m making it work
When spite questions everything that you’re worth
Understand that a games being played
At your brains expense
Tryna operate where pressure immense
No need to complicate, yeah it’s been tense
What a gift and a curse
Playing back events
With a melancholy thirst
Eating a tamale outside of 61st woodside
Where my past life pried for rebirth

Hit the west coast for a quick visit
I might pivot but it’s hard to leave
This city breathes in a way that I can’t escape
With all the red tape
I still wanna see the skyline
And yell from the roof that it’s my time
I can see the truth
Coming down the pipeline
Take a close look
Cover it in iodine
Find your nothing but cells swimming in culture
Never one to do what I’m supposed to
Tryna go from Honda Civic living to a roadster
Lead a good life with a little more closure
Days spent trippin but it help me with clarity
Peace is a rarity
In a world of disparity
Only good cause I care to be
This a brush on an oil painting
Or a chef plating
Or a view that is breath taking
Or a baby’s first steps
Or insane thirst quenched
Hating represents the polar opposite
Nothing like when the deposit hit
Truth be told I only want a bit

Because the energy exchange
Always remedies the pain
And when you’re laid to rest
All your memories remain
