The Dr. J. Experience - Our Lives Here in Passing

A moment in time
A novel from 1935
The pages sublime
Captured the hunger in our lives

The artist snares the spirits in nets of magic
Makes his life prevail through his creation

Standing alone
On sands by the ocean's thirsty foam
The simple unknown
That tortures the mind, leaves us longing for home

The end of October, our lives passing by
Chastened and sober at how fast the days fly

The song that prevails
The rhythm and rhymes etched in our hearts
Love never fails
The comfort of faith when a loved one departs

The artist wreaks the vision of his life
The rude and painful substance of his own experience

But everything changes, the river runs through
The mountainous ranges, not much we can do

We can't go back home
To our family or to our childhood dreams
To the country we'd roam... Back home
To the escapes of Time and Memory

What seemed everlasting disappears with a sigh
Our lives here in passing, we look to the sky

The memories abound
Softly nostalgia loosens her hold
The sun rolls around
Reminds us that nature's first green is gold
