Jane's Party - Her Pain

So we set out in the country,
Where we laid our blues away.
There was nothing, nothing but running,
And their ain't no place to stay.
So she thanked us both for coming,
On her tears I pray.
She had lost him in the crossfire,
On that winters day.

You don’t feel her pain.

So we talked about her lover,
He goes by Johnny Jay.
When we asked her if he loved her,
She just turned her head in shame.
He was loaded locked and broken,
Out to settle his score.
He’d been cheated, she had spoken,
Of a man who she loved more.

You don’t feel her pain.
He won’t feel again.

Now she’s drinking by the window,
Her hair is long and grey.
When we ask her what she’s thinking,
She just moves her lips to say.
Oh but nothing, she’s got nothing,
But her hands to pray,
On her lover the one who loved her,
She let him slip away.

You don’t feel her pain.
She wont live again.
