Ted the Poet - Outro

Thank you for participating in Operation Rowdy Boy
Please stay tuned for these parting words
Yeah, yeah, time to leave behind the training wheels
I don't need a crutch to display the skills
The old style ain't gon' pay the bills
All the sex talk ain't gon' make a mil'
I'm pushing 30, music full of dirty
Sex encounters, I know how I make 'em feel
Bet the same people that ain't crazy 'bout me
Just gon' play the Intro and then hate me still
Starting from scratch, I'm bringing the drawing board back
I ain't fulfilled
I ain't getting out of this what I sought out to get
And there's still so much space to fill
Y'all done heard me talk about my dick so much
I know it started sounding lame for real
It started back when I was plagued with guilt
Had to play in filth, then became the filth
Don't get me wrong
If it's ill, I'mma say it
Just won't drag it on
Overkill, overplay it
I want most of my songs
Out there filling up your playlists
Most of all, I want my mama still to see me as the greatest
Hold up, most of y'all won't even see the layers
I'll break the album down top to bottom
First part talks about the sex
Second part touches on the violence
Third part talks about the drugs
Fourth part links it all to trauma
I was never just a simple man
Just wore the costume like some body armor
Sick of the damn lies, not living my best life
Y'all been getting misled by all the sickening headlines
But the picture has said a thousand words
Y'all ain't listening, never mind
Never mind the album cover with the picture, the dead eyes
And a sinister red light as I sit on my bed, why?
Now I'm switching it up and extending my shelf life
'Cause that shit ain't gon' sell or shed light
On my state, mental health-wise
I need to express the complexities of my emotions
If life got me joyful, or fearful, or dreadful,
A head full of all the above
Or angry, screaming at the top of my lungs
Well that one's why I needed Follow The Blood
I cut a track from the project
Wasn't just dark, pitch-black, but for context
After the song Dance With The Devil, I was gonna tackle the drama
That I had with his mom next
Then I backed off the concept
It was called the Lies of the Confused
Would expand on the poem read
With that same line that was used
See the blame that I felt was only half in my own head
Which led to abandonment issues
Trust, and even anger management issues
His family misunderstanding the tribute
And telling me, "The dying man should've been you"
When life was what I couldn't stand to continue
But now I'm proud to be the man I turned into
Was never 'bout the wealth, you can't take it with you
When family bids you farewell, and they're handing out tissues
So long, farewell, auf wiedersehen, good night
Done succumbing to demons
I'm out of my fog, I hope they can fight
Invited, you're coming along for the ride
Excited, the past is now so far behind
We driving, the sunset is wonderfully bright
Horizon, I see the success in my sights
Or my name isn't...
Teddy!
