Angelyn & Blind Innocence - Oppression

5. The Oppression
The mountain tops are two rounded in the snow
to ever Pearce the sky yet no one wonders why they still stand tall
And the birds they fly towards the sun
always running to and from
the constant struggle for their home
they never stop chasing their toes

Should I try to be like the mountain or the birds
should I try for something more knowing I will never get through the door
should I follow my discretion fight through the oppression

How the river starts and ends journey runs around the bend
to go back into the ocean
but no one ever gets the notion
How the bull gets teased and toted
yet he charges to cease his token
until his token is soaked in red because they broke him and left him dead

Should I try to be like the river or the bull
should I try for something more knowing I will never get through the door
should I follow my discretion fight through the oppression

(Instrumental)

Should I try to be like the mountain or the birds
should I try for something more knowing I will never get through the door
should I follow my discretion fight through the oppression
