Downcast - Mayday

North of the city it's been forty years since all the stars have faded out. Red lights in everybody's eyes, neon pours into bloodshot eyes. Someone's son is watching somebody's sister. Someone's sister is dancing in the night. Someone's son is watching somebody's daughter. Beating off in the club tonight. East of the city we're afraid of the cops. Scrap with one another and hang onto the scraps. Two paychecks a month keeps the bars on the windows. Not sure why the bars are here anymore. Someone's son is watching somebody's sister. Someone's sister is shuffling in the night. Someone's son is watching somebody's daughter digging through all the trash tonight. Mayday. Somebody help me. South of the city we hear the shots. Corner boys patrol the streets. Red shoes and blue shoes, they all hate the brown. They forgot about the lynch mobs that ran this part town. Someone's son is watching somebody's sister. Someone's sister is working in the night. Someone' son is watching somebody daughter paying off all her debts tonight. Mayday. Somebody help me. West of the city it's another drug bust. Armored tanks on the street at night. Can we pull the shade one time so we can just get some sleep? Mayday. Somebody help me. I can almost hear the ocean. I can almost taste the sea. So can all the good people from the rooftops of my street.
