Alabama Cody - Change the World (Just 'Cause)

Just ‘cause you different….just cause you ain’t the same as me.
Help me to understand. If I’m blind help me see.
Help me to realize, that it’s a possibility
To change the world and start with you and me.

Growin’ up I had holes in my socks because we couldn’t afford ‘em.
Wearin’ Starburys while the other kids was wearin’ Jordans.
Nowhere to hide, hurtin’ inside. Sometimes I felt like dyin’.
Tryin’ to keep my head down so the other kids wouldn’t see me cryin’.
Lookin’ back I can see, it was preparing me, to become the key to unlock the mystery
of what our world can be and is supposed to be. So turn off the TV and listen to me.

Just ‘cause you different….just cause you ain’t the same as me.
Help me to understand. If I’m blind help me see.
Help me to realize, that it’s a possibility
To change the world and start with you and me.

When I was sick: No health insurance, just soup and Sprite
Helped me to understand as a man what’s wrong and right.
To learn take a stand and bring this world into the light.
Can’t hide from the voice inside – gotta step up and join the fight
We can stop all the hate and the fear and lies,
Make a new world from the earth reachin’ to the skies.
I just pray, every day that you hear what I say
And help us find a way to usher a brighter day.

Just ‘cause you different….just cause you ain’t the same as me.
Help me to understand. If I’m blind help me see.
Help me to realize, that it’s a possibility
To change the world and start with you and me.

“I can change the world!” “We can change the world” (in English, Russian, Thai, Ugandan, French, Spanish, etc.)
