Where Deprivation Lies - Savages

An idiosyncrasy, uncommon questions filter through
Superior by all means, disenfranchised savages
Contemplate their place in the ground
What lies beneath
Above, that hateful star
Depriving them
Falling short of perfection

Raping the stratosphere
Perfect perfection glooms
Sunbeams wish to claw through
Uninhabitable, though persistent
Crops fail, minds wither
A near-global extinction event
Contemplation and prayer

Compressed into a cancerous lineage
Your design, our desire

A wreath for those that exist only in fire
An offering of both incantation and hypothesis
Faded lines in between
Like rays once upon the skin

WHY
BLIND
SIGHTS
What have we missed

WHY
MUTE
SPEECH
What's that you said

Where are my eyes
Cold is my tongue
Flesh tastes of stone
Guess the deed's been done

The colours have faded
The spectrum sparsely itches their sinew
They'll be recreated
Born into abhorrent sin
No green pastures
No reason to exist
Primitive beyond primitive
Yet those blessed rays still persist
