Gabriel James - The Ronin

This is how it all began
The elders of my tribe sharpened blades with hands
They traveled with samurai all over the land
Killing for silver coins, food, drink and a bed
The lifestyle in front of me looked so appealing
Spent my whole life learning the skills behind killing
Not knowing that my elders had lost all feelings
Only a few of them told me the truth of their dealings
They let me know the shoguns controlled their actions
They could be called at any time to fight new battles
They warned me of sharp swords and heavy axes
But I loved all of it became obsessed with mastery
My skills started out as a natural talent
Scaring most the other students in any group classes
Had my sensei warning me of jealous homies
Told me he was worried my path was that of a ronin

Once it was time to ride out with my brothers
I realized that I don't play well with others
Battleplan discrepancies and creative differences
Kept me skeptical of a future with any of em
Plenty moments of fights and internal conflicts
Had me leave the first school with only one accomplice
Not knowing my friend had to go on other conquests
Leaving me alone on this road astonished
That so many other schools wanted me to train with em
Wanted my sword in wars but didn't wanna pay for it
Even went to different parts of my world searching
For anyone to work with, any other person
That was down hit the road, down to get the bag
I stopped hanging out with killers and went off to different lands
Enjoyed being alone when killing no need for no one
Just like my teacher said I am the ronin

My sensei warned me of my abilities
Told me my skills will create possibilities
Along with envy and a lot of hostility
Probably have a band of brothers out to kill me
But I still move forward towards their hate willingly
Knowing my swords ready for any opposing weaponry
Block, slash, stab basic forms and symmetry
Angles perfectly attacked to protect my winnings
I keep going!
Getting physically stronger
Keep my mind clear with funny smoke my garmets
Hang off my body loosely while sparring
Shadow box in the night under moonlight often
Out on a 5 mile run in the early morning darkness
Back to the dojo to train before I go to harvest
Farmer by day, but in the night I fight heartless
Demons for people with no way to stop them
