Eden Prairie - Ana Lucia

Back when the world was still young in our eyes
We coveted more each sunset than sunrise
We dreamed of a place that no one would find
Were the mist covered mountains of Andalusia rise

We were married in the fall of a sweltering year
Money so tight we were paralysed by fear
Your dad risked it all just to pay our debt clear
When his heart gave out we mourned him with guilt ridden tears

On the first day of May our daughter was born
Ana Lucia was the first one of four
Watching her sleep curled up in a ball
These mist covered eyes left raindrops all over the floor

Now the children have gone they got kids of their own
We never see them now that they're grown
There's a pattern to life that we've always known
Take each moment in cos we all leave here alone

Now the world is no longer so young in our eyes
Each passing sunset means one less sunrise
We're finally here old if not wise
To see the mist covered mountains in Ana Lucia's eyes
