John Murray - Sing It Away

There's a girl
Somewhere trapped in this world
Walking around just smiling
With her head in the clouds
And when she sing her soul radiate a heavenly sound
How you stay Godly when it's hellish around
You lost what you found, but still try and sing it away
You still tryna sing it away

I know a soul
Who before she was 12 years old
Had found herself in the dark, where it's damp and it's cold
Living was cool
Till she started getting sexually abused
And fooled into thinking that this just how everything went
She zoned out as she told me how much time that she spent
Not really thinking bout the life that she lived
She made pretend
But all that hurt and pain that she felt it just stayed within
She didn't choose the cards she was dealt, she just play to win
I focused on her body as she oddly tried to vent to me
Recapping her family history
Not for sympathy, but for empathy
Cuz I had let my guard down
And told her something personal
But that just make it hard now
She used to hearing lies
So to see me being vulnerable took her by surprise
She got to talking bout her depression and wanting to die
Try not to think about her thinking bout her suicide
Could never speak her pain but I can try and summarize

You still tryna sing it away
