Tylt - Low

I can't be proud of who I am
Cuz who I am is such a mess
I'm the daughter of a king yet I act like a thief
Which frog is a prince, this one, I guess

I see the mountains and want to climb them
Thinking everything will be fine then
But there's always a mountain further down the road
And I may be a princess but that toad's just a toad

This life is the best one I could ever ask for
But still I search for windows and doors
My chains should be gone but I feel them tug
As if I'm still hooked on its drug

I heard it's hard to quit cold-turkey
Thank the Lord for this thing called mercy
I've fallen deep into this trap, Lord
Help me out 'fore they use me as a dart board

Now that I'm here, I feel
As if there's nothing left
God, get me out of here
I'm sinking into my chest
There's a cavity in me
It's become so empty
They've got me feeling so
Low

Be in the world and not of it
I try to live right above it
Christian tattooed on my heart
My eyes, my fists, my feet, my tongue

My actions don't give me away
Unless of course I'm in Your house
Then I act like I belong to day
But by nightfall, the fire for you is doused

I can't pretend like I'm perfect
I can't fake that for my family
Then turn right around broken
Because none of them can see right through me

It's like there's red and white painted on my body
The center of the target placed on my heart
People poke at me with their horns and fists
Smiling because they know I'll resist

Now that I'm here, I feel
As if there's nothing left
God, get me out of here
I'm sinking into my chest
There's a cavity in me
It's become so empty
They've got me feeling so
Low

I'd chosen to be blind
To everything in my mind
I fight it with all I've got
I'm starting to lose my mind

The photographs don't capture me
The want of fame has been deceased
I slaughtered it with my two hands
I slaughtered me with my two hands

Now that I'm here, I feel
As if there's nothing left
God, get me out of here
I'm sinking into my chest
There's a cavity in me
It's become so empty
They've got me feeling so
Low
