Darryl Atherton - Sax Appeal

Here in the downtown bar i take time to chillax
Glass in hand listen to the guy belting out the sax
The band are playing Acker Bilk and Kenny Ball
Lost count already sax man knows them all

The atmosphere takes you back to Prohibition days
In my mind I'm in a Speakeasy loving the lazy ways
Caught in the adrenaline rush from crossing boundaries
Oh god what a relief from slaving in the foundaries

The singers on the stage to join the band voice to cut glass
What a superb rendition that was truly world class

Time to eat so order the house special pastrami on rye
Little something to complement must be old gold and dry
This gin joint is the place has it's own cool cats
Two guys sat in the corner wearing pork pie hats

Band is back for the second set open with Take Five
Sax man blowing from the heart jeez that man's alive
Band close with Sweet Georgia Brown Bye Bye Blackbird
Everyone is on their feet demand Night and Day as the third

Sax man ruled the night from low and slow to high and bright
