The Turtle Project - Silence

Silence is my enemy
Distraction my best friend
Solitude can get to me
In ways I can’t explain
It beats me up like a school yard bully
Taking my last change
Does that make me deranged?
Quiet moments taunt me like
A baby at the side of a grave
When I think of what could have been
If I had the chances again
I’ve got so many ghosts and they just love
To rattle those chains
Does that make me insane?
I hold on to the noise
I can’t hear it for the noise
The stillness is disturbing
The crashing of the waves
It brings a threat of me becoming drift wood
And washing up in the caves
I wave my arms like a frantic baboon
And swim towards the haze
Does that not make me brave?
I hold on to the noise
I can’t hear it for the noise
I hold on to the noise
I can’t hear it for the noise
I hold on to the noise
I can’t hear it for the noise
I hold on to the noise
I can’t hear it for the noise
