Josh Phillip - Awakening

When earth starts slowing down around the sound of washing waves I will be waiting
Cause beauty is to me simply the earth's energy high in concentration
And if eternal life exists its guide would try to start somewhere attractive
These images look lovely in my head, they give me something to go back with

I take a look around and I spy
Millions of the same damn thing
I lift my eyes to meet the maker
And thank her for not breaking me

The bits and pieces flow between my toes, the tide it glows below the moonlight
Like fingers curling, beckoning I linger longer closer to the seaside
The voices call me onward still until I'm left with no where else to turn
The closer I become the more I wonder what it is that I will learn

I take a look around and I spy
Millions of the same damn thing
I lift my eyes to meet the maker
As her wave comes crashing down on me

Do my eyes lie of what I see
Staring blankly back at me
An infinite world of nothing but blue
Grains of sand blanket the floor a dark hue
And down I fall

I take a look inside and I find
A love so strong it moves the sea
I lift my eyes to meet the maker
And thank her for creating me
