I tell myself I'm not even going to open the app
But then the next thing you know I've pulled out my phone
And I'm scrolling down and liking this and commenting on that
And sometimes I select the angry face emoji
But only when I see a post about plastic in the ocean
Or like a dead elephant or something

I tell myself I'm going to be productive when I sit down at my desk
But then the next thing you know I've clicked on a post with a headline that says
"You won't believe what these 10 celebrities from the 90s look like now
"And you'll be shocked when you get to number 10"
Why do they make you click through like a hundred pages of ads just to get to number 10?

I remember this one time my Aunt Peggy posted this video of her cat
And I commented, I was like, "That looks like a really cute and fluffy cat Aunt Peggy"
To which she replied with a cat face emoji and a heart heart heart
She said, "I'm gonna come visit you next Thursday Dave"
To which I replied, "Oh that'd be great Aunt Peggy, you know what? Come visit anytime
But on second thought maybe don't come visit at all
Because I know that on the day you're scheduled to come visit
I'll be like, "Crap, why did I invite my freaking Aunt Peggy over to visit today?
"I've got a hundred-and-two things to do today and plus
Thursday is garbage day and garbage day always stresses me out"
