Don't Call Me Ishmael - My Christmas (Is Better Than Yours)

I say, it isn't really Christmas until the snow is up to the window
And I say, it isn't really Christmas until Mariah plays on the radio
Oh well, I'd rather hear a bit of Bing
Don't you know a White Christmas isn't everything
I know, but what happened to the Christmases like when I was a child

You'd wake up, to a stocking at the foot of the bed
There wasn't much inside, some chocolate and a book to be read
But it was enough I had no need for stuff
I had my mind I'd go play outside

For me, Christmas doesn't start until we're out for beers on Christmas Eve
For me, Christmas commences when we sit and listen to the speech from the Queen
So boring It's not the 1960z
Yes, but Christmas was much cooler in the eighties
But now you can share the coolness with your friends on Instagram
My Christmas is not about unwrapping a bike
My Christmas is defined by the number of likes

I can generate with my Christmas jumper post
What happened to quality time, a simple family Christmas roast
That's fine, I can snap away and use a fancy filter tool
Those Christmas Pics will look so cool
My worries will be minuscule

Maybe our Christmases are not so different
This year we can make it magnificent
We can live stream from our living room
And maybe we can get trending on youtube
