Willows Young Crow - Yellow

Oh I just gotta tell ya
I'm brittle as they come
Fickle as seasons oh it's all just in my blood
And the reason I'm still breathing
Is the sweetness in my cup
This steaming drink's the only way my freezing hands warm up
Been holding up a flag
White and heavy as the snow
And my back feels I've been of late, that's really god damn broke
Picked up all the litter
I found under rusting lights
Threw it in a blender
Now I'm calling it a life

I guess this time's just not the time for me
I'm guessing I'll be fine eventually
I'm guessing I'll be good there up the road
But for now I just hope that you know

That you
You're the one
Spot of yellow
In my mind
Oh you
You're the one
Dotted yellow
Line inside
All my life

Caught in the traffic lights
The middle of the road
Pockets are empty
All my dreams a fucking joke
Asphalt like quicksand
I'll be stuck here when it dries
Like all my paintings that aren't worth a god damn dime
And my eyes carry bags
Like my blood does caffeine
I need the hit to focus
Oh it's part of my routine
And my wrists always aching
From the way I hold my pen my ink still weeping like it's been
Wish I could watch it as it bled

I guess this life's just not the life for me
I'm guessing I'll just die eventually
I'm guessing I'll be roadkill up the road
But for now I just hope that you know

That you
You're the one
Spot of yellow
In my mind
Oh you
You're the one
Dotted yellow
Line inside
All my life
