Til Death Do Us Part - If Bob Ross Painted Humans You'd Be His Best Artwork

I went down highway 17 then took a left on county road cc
To see if I still had my mind of if they gave a shit after the last time
I looked into the sky that night and was warmed with the thought of your eyes

I haven't been to the ocean in awhile, let alone by your side
And I mean that in the friendliest way possible or I'll try for our sake
The only place I see you is in my dreams so I'll see you tonight

Happy trees are blooming again and it's all because you painted them
I took the past few years for granted and was prancing around like I was out of my mind
So I'll take this time to paint what I've been thinking, a portrait by calloused hands
And if I could do it again I would but this time it would be right

Second verse
What if we were all just dogs running around going bark bark bark
Walking around leaving our marks, searching for our counterparts
We're both just stray bloodhounds, looking for our dead birds

Something tells me you matter more than time and space
But if one thing's certain it's that only one of those exist, of this I'm certain
And if Bob Ross painted humans, you'd be his best artwork

Sadness has left again and this time that I'm saying it's not pretend
I took the past few years for granted so I'm slowly learning to start again
So I'll write you this song, far from an artist, just a person with a busy mind
And through all of this I've learned to appreciate you for who you are
