Surviving Life - No Comfort

He looks at everyone around him
Sitting in this bar that doesn't have a name
He's so lost inside himself
He's made a mistake
And now there's a familiar voice inside his brain

It's telling him to just get up and leave
"There's nothing for you here, no comfort in these drinks
Like fire ants on an open wound, each sips eats away until there's nothing left of you"

She thought that she could make it on her own
But right now she feels so stupid for leaving home behind
The lines begin to blur as the tears begin to form
And she finally listens to the voice inside her mind that says

"Go back to the motel and write to your mother
Tell her that you're sorry, tell her that you love her
Don't forget to dot your 'i's with hearts
She waits up all night with open arms, but you have to do your part"

Walking outside into the night
They run into each other under parking lights
He looks into her eyes, and she looks into his
Something behind them almost seems it might be worth the risk

"This just doesn't make any sense, what is going on?"
She didn't come to find true love at this seedy bar
And he's not even sure anymore that he believes in true love at all
They slowly start to fall
