Hannah Williams - Possibilities

She looked down at her blackened hands and the blood she left behind
Spilled ink and ever-changing dreams leave her running for her life
But it's alright, if some get left behind
She said it's alright, she's choosing her fight

She draws tattoos on her wrist for when she turns 18
She's got a pile of David Bowie disks and a heart that's ready to scream
And she won't sit still, not while the stars are out
She has pages to fill with the colors of her changing sound

She said
I don't want anything than a couple hundred possibilities
I can't stand idling waiting for life to catch up to me
'Cause I don't need anything than the pair of shoes that's on my feet
To get right back up again, ready to dance in the streets

New shades fill the air for every voice she meets
Breathe it in salt and smoke in her room of hazy daydreams
'Cause it's alright, were still alive
She said it's alright, we're ready to fight

I've seen her once or twice with a tear in her eye
Talking about all the good times and what we've left behind
I say there's no reason to be scared, when all that's best is already here
She's got a heart that's made of gold and hands that are ready for the world to hold

She said
I don't want anything than a couple hundred possibilities
I can't stand idling waiting for life to catch up to me
'Cause I don't need anything than the pair of shoes that's on my feet
To get right back up again, ready to dance in the streets

We dipped our hands in the water before it cooled down
Found our calloused fingers all burned out
But we will dive in there together if it means that hope will be found
'Cause despite hurricane weather we are not yet drowned out

And we say
We don't want anything than a couple hundred possibilities
We can't stand idling waiting for life to set us free
'Cause we don't need anything than the pair of shoes on our feet
To get right back up again, ready to dance in the streets
We don't want anything
We don't need anything
We don't need anything
Than possibilities
