16raheem - Chains (From Oprf Sound)

I spent my whole freshman year just learning bout who I am
I found my lane, I found my path, my teachers noticed the raps
I hate saying I write rhymes, illegitimate skill
Until I realized they idolize, they realize it’s real
I remember I spent my sophomore year in my room
That’s one year that I’ll regret when I lay in my tomb
You lose time to get money, it’s mutually exclusive
I've grown from the old me, I was naturally reclusive
Junior year everybody said that it would be the worst
Well of course that’s if you really care about the course
Look at me, super lazy, drive my parents and my teachers, super crazy
Man somebody come and save me
4th lap, these colleges names are forced to my brain
Wish the conductor was stopping this train, it’s moving too fast
Stupid, I slacked way too much
It wasn’t through to my head
Music and rap, hope I can make a life outta that
Me and AJ just drove past our grade school
We saw our old teacher, rolled down the window
I was just hoping he would recognize and say somethin'
I haven't seen him since the 5th grade, I was way younger
My biggest worries at that time,
Were coloring papers, not letting the ball go past the baseline
It was never a flatline, or never relocation, it was never a worry about my lifestyle
He said “it’s good to see you guys”, my left hand 12 o clock
Look at how we changed, now I’m the one at the red stop
Giving the right of way, look at me, I can drive now
We were bumping that Travis, “look at me, i can fly” now
Find a way
To write your truths without being cliche
I’m an amethyst rockstar with this purply chain, I'm sayin'
Don't let them swipe your link up
We wanna link up, want them to swipe my link up
