Kevin Luthy - Music Takes Over

Fell down a well, one lazy, hazy afternoon
Had an uneasy feeling, deep down inside
No one would be along, any time soon
Started slowly climbing, one brick at a time
Keeping my thoughts from wandering
Just concentrate, breathe and climb

By the end of the day, I had made my way, almost to the top
Fortunately, there was water in the well
Although, I slipped and did a belly-flop
Without a moment's hesitation
I steadily climbed the well once more
Hit feet first this time
Falling again, broke my ankle on the floor

Third time is a charm
Slowly climbing, injured and not real happy
Made it up and out this time, just as the weather turned crappy
Soaked with rain, ducked under a tree
Just as lightning took it down
So I trudged, with two soakers and a broken ankle
Seventeen miles back to town

So here I sit, with a jug of wine
On the front porch, watching the storm
Someone hands me an acoustic guitar
And I strum a couple of chords
Take a pull off the jug, and a hit off a bowl, then go into a song
Then spirits lift
As the power of music takes over before too long
