Mucky Pause - A Place by the Sea

Kneel down, light the flame
The crackle in the frame
Lie back on the floor
Feel the heat pour

Shadows dance around
Running on the ground
I'm feeling quite content
To watch them writhe about
Like they're pouring from a water spout

Feel the draught find a way
Into the room where I end the day
Pull the blanket tighter now

In a place by the sea
Where I can just be me
In a place by the sea
Enjoy the warmth and quiet company

Evening turns to night
The moonlight shining bright
The birds have stopped their song
But not for long

Climbing up the stairs
Taking them in pairs
Heading to my room
And perching on the bed
Perfect place for a sleepy head

So the dreams start to spin
Until the morning eases in
Let them be my guides for now

With the salt and the breeze
The sand at my feet
Where else would I be?
Feel the warmth despite the clouds
It feels good to escape the crowds
It seems like it was made for me

In a place by the sea
Where I can just be me
In a place by the sea
Enjoy the warmth and quiet company
