HomeSteveHome - The Next Step

I stand here wondering
Why did I go so far ?
Down a winding dead-end street
To lose my love, my star
And so again my plan has gone
There's no easy way to say
Teary eyes that cloud the sun
The laughter fades away

What on earth is wrong with me,
Wrong with the world, does no-one see ?

You're not here
You're not here where you should be
There's just an empty space
Where is your smiling face ?
Silence surrounds me, just a foggy memory, of what we were all about
This emptiness inside of me
Aching in its misery
I lift my face and shout ... and let it all out

I still stand here wondering
Will I be going far ?
A new dream, a new awakening
A fresh sunbeam, another star ?

What on earth is wrong with me?
Will it all start going wrong again?

You're not here
You're not here where you should be
There's just an empty space
Where is your smiling face ?
Silence surrounds me, just a foggy memory, of what we were all about
This emptiness inside of me
Aching in its misery
I lift my face and shout ... and let it all out

And hope still grows
It always seems to know
I can feel myself growing bolder
The Dawn's already here
To chase away my fears
I'll fly again soon before I'm older

You're not here
You're not here where you should be
There's just an empty space
Where is your smiling face ?
