A year ago I started doing this rap thing, well
Actually what happened was I began producing
These melodies so heavenly, divine inspiration
I've been working for a long time, so what's my motivation
I'm tryna bring glory to my Father up in the sky
I'm living my life for Him and there's no way that's a lie
Constantly dedicating my time everyday
My gifts were given to put my Lord and Savior on display

Trying to be someone I'm not, now for me that's a sin
All these people tryna microwave their talent
They feel like in five minutes they can be a Jimmy Fallon
They don't understand you gotta put work into the game
And maybe one day the product will be a sign of your name
Up in lights, but where the late nights
Why you tryna skip the ladder when we all know you're afraid of heights

How can you be rhyming if you got no reason
The drive you think you got will probably last for a season
If you're serious about this, you can't do it alone
So find a point of reference to help you get in the zone
And yes I'll take my own advice and yes I won't think twice
About persisting through the rat race don't wanna hang with the mice
I hope that when you listen you get the sense I'm different
As for now, I'll be the crockpot in the kitchen
